One our first night out in Barcelona we went to this bar for a couple of drinks and it was definitely worth it. We stayed in El Born and it was only a few minutes away from our apartment. Friendly atmosphere, great service (especially by Michael, don't know if he still works there) and great cocktails! Not too pricey and... More

After dinner, this is where we enjoy coming for our night cap. Chilled out bar and friendly staff. Located in the square, it is one of many cocktail bars in Born

Grabbing a cool beer and sitting on a table in the square adjacent was a great start to an evening of many parts, a great location for people (and architecture) watching, and well placed for a tour of other eating and drinking establishments.

This is the perfect spot in Passeig Del Born. Sitting outside, overlooking the classic and stylish boulevard, sipping a few drinks. Only one downside: Pitin Bar do not accept cash, and this very day we just brought our creditcards. So I had to take a looong walk to find a functioning ATM. Well, I should have brought cash, but momentarily,... More

We were walking when we stumbled into this small bar. The gentlemen who served us was very polite and gave us an excellent service. Even in a city where you have to be careful with your wallet this place was not too expensive. After we had our beer we left and noticed we forgot a small wallet with some money.... More

Small cafe/bar, ideal for a snack and drink. Next to the El Born Cultural Centre on a small pedestrianised square and a short walk from the church of Santa Maria del Mar. Do nice toasted sandwiches.

We sat outside in the sunshine and got friendly, efficient service. Cocktails were tasty and about par for the area price wise. Toilets upstairs are ridiculously tiny, if you're washing your hands the other person can't open the door! TripAdvisor times are way out for this bar, it said 10am-1pm on the day we were there at 11pm and it... More

I ended up in here with around 15 of my work colleagues. It took over 30 minutes to get a beer and we were the only people in the bar. The owner who was very rude asked us to not make noise. Seriously this bar will not allow you laugh they will ask you to leave. I thought the whole... More

Our family have ended up here after dinner a couple of times. Nearly everytime the service had been slow and the waiters has been neglecting us. When we have got our drinks we have been satiesfied but often a bit irritated because of the long waiting time. Tonight we left with no drinks after the waiter had passed our table... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
