We booked a table as we'd noticed how popular it had been. As per any decent restaurant the front of house person showed us to our seat, the sommelier came to take our drinks order and the waiter took our food order and dealt with us for the rest of the night. All 3 were incredibly polite and welcoming. The... More

Great place. Try the seafood Paella and the Luis alegra Rioja rose. Sunny days best! Can get busy but definitely worth the wait.

Visited La Gavina late evening with a group of friends over on business, there were 7 of us and we were very well greeted and seated on a nice table at the front of the restaurant. A very busy restaurant especially with the locals which obviously tells a story. The staff were very nice and friendly as gave us the... More

We ate at this restaurant on the second night of our short trip, we were on a classy ladies hen party and this restaurant had been booked for months. The booking of the restaurant was straight forward and i had to pay 400 Euros deposit. On the night of our arrival we were sat outside, there was quite a cool... More

A cute tapas place in port vell with amazing views of the harbour and the boats. The food selection is quite interesting and i must admit the taste did not disappoint :) The service was very attentive and efficient. Good place for lunch or dinner.

Had a late dinner, great quick service, good selection, enjoyed every mouth full. Its harbour location makes it worth a visit.

Our hotel made reservations for us and said we won't be disappointed but it was the worst dining experience ever. I was so excited to be in Barcelona the food capital of the world, I knew I had to try the lobster Pallea. When it cost 39 euros your thinking this better be the best Pallea in Spain. My rice... Exceptional food and what Barcelona is all about. The freshness of the seafood, cooked with bags of flavour yet simple in how it's prepared. Beautiful views of the marina in glorious sunshine. A must!!

We decided on an early dinner with tapas. La Gavina was one of the restaurants in the area which was not only open at 17:45 but alteady had other customers. Service was rather slow and not very enthuthiastic despite many waitors around without too much work. The various dishes were okay, but not more. Prices due to the setting at... More

Framed in the restored Palau del Mar building since 1993, at the foot of the Mediterranean Sea, but with history andexperience accumulated since the 1930's. Mediterranean and seafood cuisine, with a large terrace in front of the harbor that has a capacity for 400 guests. New fully equipped indoor dining rooms where, as well as tasting our gastronomy, to hold meetings, presentations or conferences. We evolve respecting the tradition and the flavor of our dishes.

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
