We had visited the restaurant a couple of times during the last years and we found it always very good. This time however we noticed that the quality was not the same. The dishes were good but not as surprising as they were before. A pity. Price is maybe cheaper but the quality ratio has clearly changed to worse.

While this restaurant doesn't turn out consistently excellent dishes, it does provide an eclectic variety of interesting plates. It's a cosy spot on the corner of Manso and Viladomat. We were greeted by a very professional trilingual waitperson who suggested the house special, the Bravas (potatoes). We ordered that and several other items: a salad, risotto, mushrooms as starters. The food... More

Great and friendly service. However, the food experience was mixed from a very good sous vide egg dish to flavourless meat dishes. The creative force of the restaurant has left for a project in Asia - he needs to come back!

Found this place from TripAdviser ratings. Warm welcome. Had main dishes only: chicken and beef cheeks on mash. Very soft and tasty beef. Wine was excellent. Lovely cosy place

I came to this restaurant because a friend living nearby suggested it. I haven't heard anything before and I was really surprised by the food quality and the excellent wine selection. We were five and I was able to taste several of the dishes the served us. I asked the scallops as the main and they were delicious, but also... More

We went to this restaurant twice and have not been disappointed. Such a surprise, you may not need to go to Ferran Adria. The menu consists of small dishes but very well presented with always a different plate, basket and very interesting flavours combinations. The best is the meat, WOW, you've got to try it even if you are vegetarian,... More

this is a tiny jewel one can find in Barcelona. Their owners manage this place and offer worldwide refined and very tasty tapas - special mention to their desserts. We loved this place for its simplicity and also sophistication. Highly recommended.

Francesc Gimeno has a gem here. We arrived a little early (9 PM - this is Spain!) and were greeted by Ms Maite Manduley - Francesc's mother. She took us under her wings and ordered for us a delightful dinner with a great Catalan wine. She spoke no English and my Spanish is "OK" but we got it right. They... More

This little neighbourhood restaurant is run by the chef and his parents - both kindly and super-friendly people who made us very welcome. The interior is tastefully done - bit of a frenchy feel. The food was unusual and more global than the standard tapas favourites you find everywhere in Barcelona. Our favourite was a mackerel tartare which was so... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
