We ate at Montiel the last time we were in Barcelona. When we had the opportunity to come back, we planned a few days extra to make sure we were able to get a reservation! (And it turned out to be good planning!) Our first...More

What a delightfully understated, unpretentious but thoroughly delicious treat it was for us to celebrate my wife's birthday on our second night in Spain. (The first night would have been out of the question due to jet-lag and our bodies thinking it was time for...More

Some of the most unique combinations of flavors and presentations I have encountered. Very professional service, if a bit reserved... I do highly recommend this restaurant for the quality and creative preparation of food. Expect to linger for two plus hours....it is a wonderful way...More

Montiel is a hidden gem. It offers both a tasting menu and a la carte. Several of the dishes had surprisingly strong flavors compared to most restaurants in Barcelona

Sympathetic restaurant in the old town. We had tasting menu with the wine pairing. Service was good and all the dishes were explained by sommelier. Sadly half of the dishes really lacked quality and taste. So after the price being more than 100€ with the...More

We had a real gourmet meal at this restaurant. It is very intimate and tucked on a back street. The meal from start to finish was absolutely delicious, and the service was wonderful. I know that locals come here, but they were led upstairs. The...More

Small tucked away gem of a restaurant serving exquisite spanish nouveau cuisine. Get the tasting menu with the wine, is $100 Euro but just do it.

Our party of four could not have been more pleased enjoying our evening at Montiel. We had delightful conversations with the owner and those who served our table. I sincerely recommend Montiel for those who wish for a relaxed and fine dining experience.

We had the tasting menu (reduced) and still had seven courses. Food was delicious - especially the lamb shoulder. Truly a special dinner event.

Dined with my husband on a Saturday night. The restaurant is tucked away down a little street and is quite small, we were the first diners of the night but it soon filled up. We went for the tasting menu at €72 plus a lovely...More

El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent
the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But
this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually
enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few
places that live and breathe such exciting energy
regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood
seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the
city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants

Based on an exhaustive selection of the best raw materials in our region, the gastronomic offer is made from simple and tasty tapas to a full season tasting menu. Paying the utmost attention in the respect for the raw materials, producers and our environment, we work to make the gastronomic experience not only pleasant and fun, but also sustainable, fair and healthy. 80% of the products we use in our kitchen, from vegetables, meats and fish, to wines, beverages and breads, come from small producers in the region. This obliges us and allows us to always work with seasonal products and update our menus permanently. We do not use gluten or lactose and the sugar from our desserts is integral and environmentally friendly. The visit of our clients, then, becomes a comprehensive event ranging from the sensory enjoyment proper to an emotional satisfaction derived from the knowledge of knowing that what is being enjoyed also contributes to strengthen the local economy and Our own health.
