It was a beautiful day in early spring and we couldn't resist eating at this cafe on the beach. Two of us had tuna burgers, which were very good. The prices were a bit higher than off the beach, but you are paying for eating in the sun and looking out at the water. Nice break from a day of... More

Right on the beach, a fantastic place to take time out from the sun under an umbrella and enjoy a cold beer and some food. I had the Asian salad which was yummy, and interesting combination of flavours and textures - with seaweed included! Only thing is - they add 10% tax onto every meal - which isn't clearly outlined... We visited this restaurant by chance. A stroll on the promenade and 2 hungry kids. less expensive then other beach side restaurants. The children and a pizza and pasta dish each - both excellent and good value. I had roast chicken with green beans and apple, rather small portion and to be honest although it was tasty the portion was... More

We stumbled upon this cafe while walking along the beach. It was quite a find! The staff was really nice and the grilled octopus and ceviche are both fantastic. In fact we loved it so much we went back two more times during our holiday.

Got a table inside for Sunday lunch about 3.30, having failed to find any capacity in the Port Olimpic. Hottest day of the year so far, but a cool sea breeze meant sitting outside once the sun went round was too cold. Service friendly and obliging, considering the pressure of work, but we got individual seafood paellas with/without shells served... More

We came here on a Sunday in February and sat in the terrace. The menu looked nice and they had a terrace which we liked. (They charge an extra 10% on the bill for sitting here.) They were quite busy which seemed to me like it would be a great spot. We ordered croquettes to start which we're average for... More

Had an unexpected lunch here. Truly surprising for the quality of service and value. Great location, good arroz negro and high quality jam on Iberico. Small point of improvement: Clean your chairs Will certainly come back! !!

Very nice atmosphere, right on the beach. Great views. The food was very good and they had at least one vegan option. I could have stayed all day.

We tried to get a coffee here. They refused to serve us. Never seen anything like this! I understand that Sunday might be busy, but there are ways to handle it.

I was there a couple of years ago and the food was okay like nothing special but you could have a decent paella with a cerveza at an acceptable price. I didn't remember it was so dirty as I noticed today. Everything is so touristic that no one even cares to serve the food on a clean dish. It's just... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
