we decided to go for the wine pairing dinner. The dishes were beautiful and the wines paired with each course was an interesting experience - we started with tuna sashimi - delicious paired with a nice rose, then a prawn dish with an interesting Slovenian wine (which we would have chosen, but paired well) Then we had a nice entrecote... We visited Monvinic upon recommendation of a friend and couldn't have been happier with the experience. We shared the Emotion Tasting menu which included an opening round of shashimi, followed by prawn salad, with wonderfully prepared veal main course. Two tasty desserts were also included; the first was outstanding. We chose not to do the accompanying wine tasting rather started... More

We came here for dinner, which was solid, but the reason you come here is for the wine. They've got an amazing wine cellar (ask to take a look at it). The wine list is always revolving - they never order more than 3 bottles from their vendors and generally don't reorder wine labels once they've sold out. The food... More

We arrived in Barcelona and dashed straight to Monvinic having seen the many rave reviews. After a warm greeting we were seated and given our interactive wine tablet containing an impressive list of bottles and irresistible local nibbles. For the next few hours we relaxed with a glistening pile of iberico ham and tomato bread alongside our delicious choice of... More

We have had one very good and one very bad experience here. If you are adults, want to eat a deguststion menu, chances are that you will be satisfied. I was here with my son 9 years. The staff don't understand what a child can eat or not. The plate they recommended was prepared in such a way that a... More

Very impressive wine list, with 3500 wines and a easy to use electronic catalog. Found the wine prices reasonable for a high end restaurant. We had a great evening. We had the tasting menu with wine pairings and it was very good, but found the portions very small. Even after five courses and a bunch of bread, was not full... More

The place offers more than 40 type of wines in glass. The menu daily changed. You are warmly welcome for wine tasting. The menu is displayed in a tablet - that has extra information for each wine. You can choose between a glass or half glass. The staf is very helpful and kind. Each time in Barcelona I'm there but... More

Description
Monvinic has been founded with the aim of being an international benchmark for the dissemination of wine culture. A pioneering space, created by Sergi Ferrer-Salat, which has opened wide its doors to present an unrivalled selection of wines from all over the world. And, what's more, to explore the how and the why of each bottle. At a time when the number of wine enthusiasts, all keen to appreciate and to learn, is growing apace, Monvinic opens in the city of Barcelona to promote and to encourage this passion. And to do so in a way that is rigorous and respectful, yet at the same time providing an atmosphere that is natural, uninhibited, joyous and outgoing.

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
