We stopped in early evening. We were the only customers while we were there. Started with only the owner? working. He was very nice. He was interested in our opinion on his cheese selection. We had some nice tapas, cheese, and charcuterie. My wife ordered the duck confit. Tip, when ordering a hot food look for the kitchen. When we... More

We ate here on Sunday evening. Food was unusual without any fussy presentation. I had chilli. Which was just OK served without rice so ordered bread, received little pieces of dried crispbread a very strange combination. Wine was very good and from Leon, I thought we would have had a Catalan wine. there were six of us seated around a... More

We went to this place after dinner for dessert. We just happen to stumble upon it . So we went inside and Got a lava cake and Chocolate cake. They were very good!. The deserts were very cheap too. The bartender was extremely nice and friendly. (Her name is Ivanna) I do recommend this place for dessert and after dinner... More

super small bar with great food and wine (the best wines order a bottle), jazz music and warm ambient! a great place for meeting up with friends, small talks and just enjoy! might be full and don't take reservations

We came across this tiny tapas bar in the late afternoon and were pleasantly surprised by the superb meal we had and the kindness of the owner. It was a wonderful way to relax and take a break from visiting the district. We came back later in the evening another day but unfortunately it was chock full.

This restaurant was amazing. It's small and tucked in a little alley, but the food is incredible. Try the coffee smoked salmon with ginger and wasabi cream!

The best tapas bars need bookings and not pushchair friendly. This place was recommended to us and did not disappoint. Super friendly service and very accommodating. A small venue, but fit our pushchair in.

This is a crowded area, so we were happy to find an open table at El Bixto to have drinks and tapas before the concert. Cozy atmosphere with friendly and prompt service.

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
