This is the kind of Catalonian food we like. No fancy stuff but the old fashioned home cooking style. So if you want duck, rabbit, paella or Iberian ham this is a good place to visit. All four of us were very please with all the dishes we had. Starter, main and desert. And the best of all, the bill... More

Just a short walk from the hotel as well as a substantial a la carte menu they offered a three course evening meal for 17-50 euros plus half a bottle of very acceptable wine for one euro and a free bottle of water. Good meal and excellent value

Awful place, stopped for a quick drink. No drink menu available but food menu seemed affordable, server advised only large beers available. Figured how much can it be for a couple of drinks? 25 euro for a beer and a glass of sangria. Trap! Avoid.

Good service, good food. A good place for a lunch in a pleasant restaurant, with skilled employees eager to provide good service.

I like to give an honest review but I cannot think of anything good about this establishment that calls itself a restaurant. It did look well situated at the beginning of Las Ramblas near Columbus Statue. It looked similar to other eating places we had visited in Barcelona and we had no reason to suspect it was dodgy. I felt... More

We had tried the Paella as was recommended to us by someone. It was excellent and was served with good quantity. I would definitely recommend this place for trying their PAELLA!!

Restaurant very close to our hotel on Pelai and we got a seat about 9pm without booking. We were served promptly and the waiter, although short on English, had a good sense of humour. The food was tasty, well-cooked and when my daughter decided to have a starter as a dessert, everything was served with a laugh, just as we wanted... More

The only good thing about this place is that the food actually tasted pretty good. But the rest of the experience was awful. The waiters are rude and uninterested in treating customers well. The food is pretty decent, except for the portions - they are incredibly small. I actually had to go somewhere else to eat more to stop being... More

We chose L'Oliva one night as it was close to our hotel and we had walked far enough that day. Food was good quality I had Lamb chops (4) they were well cooked and so was my wife's Hake. I found the staff helpful and polite, Nothing else to say really descent enough averaged priced city restaurant.

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
