The spectacular octopus one of... More

As we stayed nearby this restaurant and the staff from our hotel recommended it, we gave it a try even though I was a bit concerned about the mixed reviews. Specializing Seafood/fish? The menu is very small and mainly “salted cod”. Although my cod carpaccio as entre and fried cod as main were really nice and the best cod I’ve... More

Our hotel recommended this restaurant and it lived up to it's billing. It is located on a neighborhood side street and the whole restaurant exudes local flavor and hospitality. The tempora calimari and Els Pescadors "fish stew" were both delicious.

Excellent prepared fresh fish, nice service. It is a traditionally fish restaurant. You can eat great meat too. It is located in a beautiful square but it was too cold to eat outdoors. They help to choose from a wide selection of white wines and cava.

Ok. The tittle says it all. I'm absolutely disappointed. We came here because a friend of us recommend it to us. In short: absolutely overpriced, food absolutely average and the service absolutely apathetic and careless. I would not recommend to visit this place. Very average cooking.

This restaurant was really what I was looking for while trying for a dinner in Barcelona. It has the flavor of the place that you would expect from the tradition coupled with a friendly and professional service and an intriguing menu. I was with colleagues and we all got seafood dishes after a few starters (including jamon) and a few... More

I had dinner with some colleagues and thank goodness I was not picking up the bill... the restaurant serves good food but the prices are oh so exaggerated. For the money you pay you would expect immaculate service, well some of their staff need to go back to waiters school or go and work in a cafe instead. Fish was... More

Of course, the specialty is fish and seafood, and it's so well done. The fresh sea bream was brought to the table for inspection along with the other offerings. Plus the waiter suggested some small clams (tinelle?) that were off the menu. "Would we like to try them?" Of course and not disappointed with the clams or the bream or... More

Second time we came and this last time was way too deceiving. Lack of a decent quality service, waiters were like unmotivated and not looking after customers, they told us all the shell food was out (really? You come all the way here just for that and you can't eat it? In this restaurant? Not even at lunch time????). We... More

Originally a meeting place for fishermen, the tavern transformed into an eatery when Poble Nou became an industrial hub and hungry workers filled the neighbourhood. In the 70s it became a place of refuge for young people from the area who were anxious for change. The old tavern, Els Pescadors, has withstood the test of time and the coming and going of trends. It has born silent witness to the deeds and events that have influenced the future of the city.

Staying in Poblenou

Neighbourhood Profile
The futuristic Agbar Tower stands out from Barcelona's skyline in Poblenou. It is no coincidence then that this area of town is the newly crowned technological park of the city, its own mini Silicon Valley containing a tech incubator (Barcelona Activa) as well as a host of local and international high tech companies. To accommodate the onrush of new residents and workers, the area of Poblenou has seen a surge of activity in new high-rise residential buildings and two top-notch shopping centres catering to everyone's need. The ambiance of this area is calmer than the city center and the beautifully relaxing Bogatell Beach, popular with locals, is just a handful of blocks away.
