Have to say that, having read the reviews, we were expecting the bees' knees in tapas bars, but it wasn't so. There were some highlights - the sardines were excellent but the house special potatoes were ordinary, and the meat with melted cheese was chewy and bland. Service was perfunctory but not unfriendly although the recommended wine was close to... More

We came for dinner and it was quite busy but we didn't mind waiting (we waited at the bar and had a drink then were shortly seated). We ordered some more wine and a few different tapas which were all mostly delicious and authentic! There were lots of locals here and the service was very good! When the bill came... More

After reading all reviews on tripadvisor decided to stop there for tapas one late afternoon. The place was half empty, so no stress or rush, but still they manged to bring us 2 types of tapas that we didn't order (and actually charged for that afterwards) and forgot one type that we ordered (brought it later after I've asked for... The place was very noisy which is usually what you would expect at a tapas bar . However I thought that the food was very standard for the price, quite greasy, nothing special really.

Some of the dishes can be ordered 1/2 portion. This flexibility allows us to order other dishes so to have more variety of food. Seafood is very fresh. Taste is good.

Very nice original atmosphere. Great sheafood tapas. Definately try the homemade sangria! Its worth the waiting.

Amazing tapas, definitely try any of the specials. Otherwise amazing food at a fair price and you don't have to wait long once sat down. Busy in the right kind of way, you really feel like you're dining with locals.

Stumbled across this tapas bar by chance. Tried it out as it was filled with locals. Great food. Great value. Good friendly staff. Bustling atmosphere. What more could you want? Just might not be able to find it again as off the tourist trail down a side street behind Burger King. Well worth searching for.

Went to go somewhere else which was full, went here instead. It was busy but in an "its popping off" way rather than an annoying way. Got lots of amazing tapas, best I had in Barcelona, and some good beers and cocktails and was pretty cheap. Lots of locals seem to love it and an actual stereotypical mariachi-style band stumbled... Great food & prices with authentic atmosphere & friendly staff. We were four people, sharing five great tapas: Bombas, cuttle fish, chicken in soy, aubergine & calamares, all great!

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
