What I really, really liked: atmosphere and background music (relaxing) and the variety of wines. The food was also very good but I consider there could be place for more options.

Beautiful big double wooden doors open into a old cave like restaurant. Traditional tapas, superb Jamon and great staff. We went back twice in 4 days, just fantastic.

After a very busy day seeing the wonderful sights of Barcelona this was a great end to the day. Friendly and informative waiter who also helped with wine choice. Interesting environment, quiet place to relax. Great food, will go again if able.

Great place to enjoy authentic food and friendly service in the historic city centre. Try the tomato bread, the green asparagus, the sausages served in a burning pot and the crema catalana! We had a corporate group of 40 guests which filled half of the restaurant. All guests were very happy. We will be back!

Everything from the food, atmosphere and service was great. A must if visiting Barcelona. We had different tapas and even though upon following recommendation, it was a by too much food. Next time, we will order fewer and then add if necessary.

We had some amazing tapas here. Staff knew a lot about the food and gave great advices on what to eat. The food and the wine was definitely cheap compared to the taste and experience we had. A must for anyon wanting to experience some true Spanish or Catalan tapas!

If like your food salty enough to cause heart failure, this is your place. Otherwise, stay away. quaint atmosphere, but food horrible.

Real Spanish tapas and decoration. Great fresh ingredients, lots of variety in the menu, good wine selection. There is no wifi nor pokemon; as the waiter suggested, so everyone concentrates in having a great time while tasting delicious food and ambiance. We’ve got the feeling that their motto is: 'do what we are best at without being pretentious'. Keep up... More

I travel to Barcelona a lot - at least 5 times a year. Every time I am there I go to visit this place with my clients. I have tried every food that they offer in the menu and I can honestly say -if you don't have any allergies, pick your food from the menu with your eyes closed and... More

If you drop into Bodega La Tinaja, you'll be one happy customer. The staff is great, the food selections are fantastic and the wine selection is excellent. The building may be from the Roman era and the overall atmosphere is cozy and warm.

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
