A superb location. What a view ! Not cheap but surely worth it ! We did not know what to expect but you have a stunning view over the city. A wide range of exotic cocktails and good wine list make it complete !

Is not usual to have all in one: excellent views (normally are touristic places where the food is not good), excellent food and excellent service (Andrea was our waiter). We arrived early so watch the sunset and then, the moon rise. We had the octopus and the seafood lasagne as entrance. Then two different fishes, perfect flavour, perfectly cooked. And... More

You need to take the lift up to the restaurant. But... why would they invite the staff to use it before the paying guests ? The lady at reception kept us waiting so that she could take a phone call ?!!.. at least 30/40 seconds. So, the view is amazing and so was the transition from day to night. Place... More

We had dinner at the Torre d'Alta Mar to cwelebrate my husbands 50th birthday. What a fantastic experience - the most amazing views, a wonderful 7 course tasting menu with wine pairing, attentive and friendly staff - the best night out in Barcelona.

went there as a group dinner and the food was lovely, the service was good although a bit more of an explanation of the dished would have been appreciated as often we didn't know what was being put in front of us!

The team very attentive, well trained, pleasant; location absolutely great. was not fully impressed by the food (ordered à la carte) for the price given, but the menus other people got looked lovely. We didn't appreciate a minor reticence when my fiancé didn't order alcohol but overall service was very nice. More positive points since the restaurant offers little collection... More

This restaurant is offering tremendous views over the city and the sea front. The atmosphere in the evening is very cosy and exclusive. The food is sophisticated and very good level but overall, given the positioning of the restaurant, you would expect more flavour and surprise in your plate. Now if you want a exceptional location for diner, this is... More

We went to torre d'alta mar because of the spectacular view and had no high expectations of the food. But what happened: they really surprised us with that! The menu is of star quality and best of all the matching wines were really matching. Spices really get the best out of the wines and vice versa! Combined with the view... More

We booked this restaurant several weeks in advance of our trip to Barcelona on a recommendation and as an overall experience it was great. The entrance to the restaurant is an experience in itself as you meet a doorman and are escorted in a glass elevator that quickly rises to the restaurant and the views of the harbour open up... Description
When you step out of the high-tech lift into the lobby of the Torre d'Alta Mar, 75 metres above the sea, you just may have an out-of-body moment. The 360 degree view is that spectacular, the sea and the city at your feet, the encircling hills in the distance. It has certainly attracted its share of architects, actors, and artists. But this high-end, luxury restaurant does everything in its power to distract you. The fittings are elegant and modern, the Catalan food (emphasis on fish) with its international influences right up there with the standards expected of a restaurant in Barcelona now. Dishes include starter of cod and lobster envelopes with black olive oil and mixed veg and main course of seabass with sauteed greens, shiitake, rice noodles, soya and sesame. Wines and service are very good, too. Remember to request a table by the window!

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
