This place has been but isn’t anymore! Quality of dishes is ok but tapas are not ok. Prives are very overstated. Service is fast and ok. Customers are only tourists, no local.

Ok. Admittedly it was on the Saturday before Easter 2018 (last week) and we(my daughter and I) did not have a reservation. The maitre d'hotel said "no problem, it would be about 15 minutes." We said "Great! We will sit at the bar and have...More

We stopped into El Gran Cafe after walking back from the beach for a spot of lunch. The ambience and setting is lovely, very traditional with lots of dark wood. Both my girlfriend and I went for the Sirloin Steak with Porcini sauce and we...More

We stumbled across this restaurant in our search for a meal instead of Tapas. Oh what luck - this is old world style with piano music in the background. Service was first class and the food was simply delicious. My husband tried the Goat and...More

We always have a dinner here whenever we come to Barcelona, the food, drink, staff, and decor is always consistently of high quality and takes the mind back to another age.

Had dinner with a big group and they sat us in the cellar where the temperature had two settings - cold with bursts of heat. Food was "nothing to write home to" so the cliche goes. But then, when ones palate has been conditioned by...More

Looks like nice old restaurant with long heritage but looks can be deceiving. Food here is absolute disaster. I felt sick for many hours and I had really light launch. Service was for me the only positive point here.

Romantic and unforgettable night, a charm. Local that leaves you open-mouthed than it is beautiful and that transports you in the Twenties. Attentive and friendly service. A classic not to be missed in Barcelona Delicious food and wine. We were a couple and we had...More

We were staying nearby on La Rambla still getting over jet lag during our first day in Barcelona. Had some reservations lined up the next couple of nights but knew we would need to take a flier on our first time. Read about something called...More

The service, food and ambiance all score very high. We had duck confit, salmon, codfish croquettes, a pear and goat cheese salad and we shared a catalan creme brulé for dessert. Everything was excellent. Coffee is also very good.
