Pros: really fun looking interior and a hip vibe. Good mix of locals and tourists. Would have loved to give a better review, but they pocketed 10 euro from my change and wouldn't give a receipt. Could have been an honest mistake, but based of...More

We were taken there by our friend, who is living in Barcelona. She said that it is the oldest bar in the city and It looked just like the oldest bar should. Dust on the furniture, older than our party combined and retro furniture really...More

It was just a dive bar. No expression from the staff.. Only went because of Hemingway used to hang out there back. In the day.

I love old pubs and bars and was really looking forward to our visit. We went three times after 10 pm before we found it open. The Catalonian strike was probably to blame. Asked for wine to be told no wine available. Somewhat bemused by...More

It's a dump, but what a dump!! Historic does not even describe how old it feels. Have an absinthe, toast your favorite writer

A beautiful old bar. Don't miss it! Fabulous gin and tonics. Friendly and helpful staff. Expected it to be much busier.

What a wonderful atmospheric old bar full of ghosts of the past mentioned below in other reviews!! We enjoyed soaking up a bygone age and a fundamental part of Barcelona’s bar scene, so worth a visit!!!

This use to be my favorite bar in the whole city back in 2010/2013 when i lived in Barcelona, the place use to be full and you'd wait standing for a chance at a table, not it was dead on a saturday night. I don't...More

Time has stopped in this atmospheric place, have enough of the absinthe and you'd leave thinking a meeting with Hemingway or Picasso was possible. We took our kids fairly late evening with no issues from to staff or clientele. Charming, historical place. Well worth a...More

Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this
gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an
excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic
spots in the entire city. A sense of humble
authenticity protrudes from the many independent

that seem to light up the streets day and night. The
rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day
