Very modern and good restaurant. Menu at 60 Euro for 8 great dishes is a very democratic price. Each dish was fantastic to taste and was wonderful to see. The staff was very professional and spoke perfect English and French. Nice wine list with a...More

Hisop is located on a street with several other very good restaurants. The food is really outstanding. We had the tasting menu and liked everything: from starters to desserts, everything was creative, flavourful, beautifully prepared, and appropriately sized. A very memorable meal. The management is...More

We have been to Hisop several times and it is always very good. It has a star in guide Michelin but is still very affordable. Try the wine menu that introduces wines from Spain i never heard about before, but are very good.

After eating at 2 Michelin 3 stars, we decided not to order the very reasonably priced tasting menu (with very reasonable wine pairing) and go a la carte (for about the same price). We were pleased to get 3 extra dishes from the tasting menu...More

A must visit if you can get it. Very comforting ambiance, light wood and white walls. Food is out of this world. Chef's personal life experience translated into meals. The backed green onion starter is authentic catalanian dish.

We spent new year's eve at Hisop. the menu we had deserved 3 michelin stars, everything was a a real top level. Maybe the waiters were a bit too "laid back" copared to other three stars we visited, but we were not shocked about it....More

I come to this restaurant each time I go to Barcelona (3rd time so far) and I have fantastic meals each time. In particular the shrimp (gambas) I had there was the best I ever had (and I have been to many fine restaurants).

Was lucky to be able to eat dinner without a reservation! The menu of 60e is a fantastic bargain for a lovely degustation meal. Even though there are only 3 serving the entire room it is amazing how they keep up with serving, clearing, etc....More

Went with some colleagues and high expectations. Have been to a number of starred restaurants in the Netherlands and Belgium but this restaurant is far below that level. Did not very much appreciate the "minimalist" cooking - use of basic ingredients is OK, but needs...More

Not impressed at all. Food was a big letdown and so was the service. During our visit Hisop did not show the qualities of a michelin star restaurant.

I actually wore sports shoes one year when I had a back problem, but not recommended. Smart casual (slacks and shirt) would be the predominant dress. Some ties (not many), a few jackets (not many). The food is terrific... More

Description
Hisop, the love child of two former Neichel chefs, Oriol Ivern and Guillen Pla, is slightly beyond the Eixample district, and their cuisine is slightly beyond the normal boundaries, as well. The restaurant itself is somewhat monastic with high ceilings and test-tube vases on white walls, each containing a single rose. Yet the ambience at Hisop is lighthearted and relaxed. The dishes are small, intensely flavoured and beautifully presented. The menu is misleadingly simple, 'squab' might be squab with pear puree and tomato confit served with a selection of three different salts and five different peppers. Great carte includes many wines of the region.
