I've been to this restaurant 3 times, and the food is always amazing, a superior quality. Hake fish fillet is a must, and cod fish omelette as well.

First night in Barcelona and a friend who lives nearby took me to this restaurant. Variety of pintxos was wide ranging and the quality high. We got there early and joined the queue outside which gave us a bar seat on opening. This added to the atmosphere and was more comfortable than standing. Restaurant fills quickly with mainly locals and... More

Great place, grate taste. Better to arrive 5-10 minutes earlier, to get a good seat in the bar. Try to be close to the kitchen.

We visited on the recommendation of friends who visit regularly. The food was excellent especially the mains which I believe were real value for money with the starters being well over priced. The service was dependent on whose attention you could attract as they were very busy (no smiles just served). Overall, great meal and I will return.

Even during Mobile World Congress, locals only. Tasty, easy, worth the visit. Wait for the specials that come out intermittently.

Authentic Basque cuisine, used to be a local secret before, but now has become this behemoth of a legend due to its amazing cocktail of tapas and the unique manner in which it serves them. If you do get in (the lines start forming way before opening time), make sure you grab a seat at the bar, the high chairs... More

Small and crowded place where you can enjoy typical basque "montaditos" but also some of their most popular dishes. Staff may seem a little rude in the beginning. They just need time to realise you're not just another tourist looking for cheap Basque experience at Lizarrán franchise and the likes. Don't miss the "chuleton".

Had an excellent meal, for starters a selection of tapas to share including Spanish omelette with sweet onion and gambas fritters. For main the Hake (merluza) waa excellent. The wine was so very good from a small batch producer of wine.

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
