Unlike a lot of tourist traps this has stayed authentic and has a very good menu del dia at a reasonable price. In have also had tapas and thery are also good value and reasonable. The staf are friendly and helpful. Definitely worth going to. It has kept from being a full tourist trap and has a lot of local... More

I am half Spanish and live in the UK; the Picadero is one of the most authentic Spanish restaurants in Barcelona. The tapas are all cooked from fresh (not frozen like many of them!). The portion sizes are wow compared to most places and the prices are still under the majority of restaurants in this area. We (2 of us)... More

Bad Spagetti Bolognese, not tasty food at all, tea in packets. The tiniest pizza I've ever tried. I wouldn't recommended this place

In a city like Barcelona is very common to come across with places like Picadero 5, a restaurant made for tourist who will never come back, so no one care about serving horrible and overpriced food with grumpy waiters. I went there for lunch with a group of friends and we were treated like they were doing us a favour.... More

Lovely friendly waiters welcomed us into this warm establishment. Very attentive and nothing a problem. We got a small starter of bread and tomatoes, which was fine. OH had the mixed paella, which was very tasty. I had a combination platter of chicken, cod cakes, fried egg, chips and salad which was also nice. Bill was around €30 including drinks,... More

The service here was very good, My husband and I enjoyed the food very much. This is a typical Barcelona restaurant. The prices were very reasonable. We had some house wine that was nice for a great price. I had a vegetable soup and salad and my husband tried the Paella. We were both very satisfied.

We did another walk in for a qiuck lunch and ordered the paella with sea food and it was exquisite. We ordered for starters the brie tapas and that was also excellent. The service is not the friendliest and the smile and warmth are missing but it is becoming apparent in our second day that is is a standard in... More

I've been visiting this restaurant many times, to watch football games in the TV while eating tapas, and recently to have a fixed menu lunch. The food is pure spanish and local cuisine, although never tried paella fearing that it might be the industrial frozen type. But... all other things are quite alright. To experience fried fish dishes or local... More

We were staying nearby and dined here on our last night after seeing the sidewalk menu and a seemingly warm and buzzy atmosphere inside. We weren't disapointed at all...the paella was one of the best I've ever had and I've had quite a few. My wife enjoyed her meal and we left very pleased.

Neighbourhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
