On a day trip to Girona from Barcelona my husband and I decided to have lunch in the plaza....what a treat this hundred year old restaurant was. We shared a generous salad, outstanding snails, and a pineapple cream Brulé. The restaurant was clean inside and...More

They are serving meals since more than 100 years ago. The best "peus de porc" I ever had and nice dessert "mel i mató". The Empordà wine was gorgeous. Pity because the mediocrity of the salad "Amanida de la casa", I hope they will improve...More

We didn't expect this restaurant to be so good! We thought that eating in this region would have been more expensive. But it turned out that, despite the luxury feeling, the prices are not high at all, they are very reasonable. We ordered 2 starters,...More

Are you able to accommodate us for a table for 8 for lunch at 13h on 25 December. If so what will be your menu on that date. Thanking you in anticipation, amitiés, Dave Gilchrist

Casa Marieta was founded in 1892, at the same time as the first stage of the modernist movement (the end of the 19th century) and the opening of the old narrow gauge train line between Girona and St. Feliu de Guixols.

Ever since, Casa Marieta has offered its customers home cooking based on tradition and a familiar welcome.

The Catalan sense of tradition is evident in all the dishes currently on the menu: chicken with crayfish, roast lamb, duck with pears, sepia with peas... All home-made.

Restaurant Casa Marieta is located on the emblematic Placa Independencia, in the beautiful city centre of Girona. The cathedral, which has the widest Gothic nave in the world, can be seen from the Square.

Crossing the stone bridge over the River Onyar, you enter the heart of the old city which has a historic relationship with the Jewish community: the Jewish Call and Torre Gironella.
