Went here for dinner not knowing what to expect after reading mixed reviews. We were very happy that we went. We had paella with seafood and it was fantastic. Definitely recommend this place!

I dined here tonight. The food was tasty and well presented and the prices were reasonable. The front dinning room was small and over crowded!!! However, I find the waiters to be rather arrogant and they seemed to pay attention if you are two or more at the table!!! Surely, there's more reason for the waiters to be friendly to... More

Food was average and service as well. We are rice lovers and we keep looking for a place that combines good service and quality, and I am sorry to say it's not this one.

We went to this restaurant on the recommendation from our hotel. We had the seafood paella and salad. Two glasses of wine apiece and everything was just delicious. Bill came to $75., quite conservative. Waiters a bit reserved, but eventually relaxed. We came at 7:30 which is early by Spanish standards. I would return.

We particularly wanted paella on a Sunday evening when many restaurants are closed and our hotel recommended this place which was great. Unfortunately the main restaurant was full so we were put in a backroom with less atmosphere but the food was great with a good choice of wines including five red riojas. The seafood paella was 25 euros a... More

La Paella de la Reina lives up to its name. I was in a solo trip, and was referred here by the front desk of my hotel. It was a good call! The service was amazing, and the paella was phenomenal. This is a great place in Chueca, and close to just about everything! Highly recommend!

I had the best paella so far in this restaurant! Booking was quick and we were right away shuffled to our table. But the waitress seems not happy we ordered only one kind of paella (3portions) and an appetiser. Since we didnt finish our dinner the other night, we decided we shouldnt order a lot if cannot finish it. After... More

Paella is good. You can tell that the rice have fully absorbed the stock making it plump and delicious. However, it's minimum requirement for 2 pax is too much, unless you have got a VERY BIG appetite. For two person, the 2 pax tasted delicious at the start and as we go on, it got a little sickening. May be... More

Do not doubt it! Excellent paella and excellent service, hands down one of the best restaurants in Madrid. We did not get to try their desserts, but will look forward to it on our second visit.

Staying in Chueca

Neighbourhood Profile
Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
