I was there with some Friends from the old times. You can have a beer in the barra before dinner. The maitre was very friendly and we choose to have the mmenú degustación con chuletón. Five dishes well served: home made pate, pimientos de padrón, tortilla de bacalao, rape con langostinos y chuletón a la brasa. For dessert postres variados.... More

A very traditional basque restaurant. The furniture and decor were traditional. The service was good, and polite. They had an English menu for anyone that struggles with the Spanish language. The food was pretty good - a wide array of traditional dishes. We had a mix of starters - they were tasty. For main course, I had the beef medallions... More

We were there with my in-laws who were visiting from Mexico. We wanted them to have a nice meal as this was their 2nd day in Madrid, so we reserved a table in the terrace. We had a great meal with many plates (cheese, ham, cod, etc) which were all delicious as well as some "vino de la casa". Great... More

We took visiting friends to this basque restaurant and order typical dishes. Overall a pleasing experience with one reservation being a few of the dishes were too salty. Welcome and service were very pleasant.

Was taken here by some madrid locals - and had a private room in the ground floor. Food kept coming - not sure we actually had a menu - but all of it was very good. Service was attentive and overall contributed to a fun experience.

For two colleagues just arrived town and newcomers to Madrid, it was useful to find a good choice of restaurants close to the hotel where we were staying. We stumbled across this one, clustered with another two rather similar, just off the side street. The main attraction here was a fixed price tasting menu that included a bottle of wine... More

Located just a few minutes walk from the hotel we where staying in, when seeking some guidance from the concierge he had suggested any of the hotels nearby were worth a visit. The menu offers a varied selection with a Basque twist. The food was perfectly acceptable, there were no issues with service. As with many restaurants in the area, the... More

Asador Gaztelu is in the capital's financial district. This large restaurant offers traditional Basque cuisine, sourcing its Cantabrian fish from the port of Ondarroa, ensuring that its ingredients are as fresh as possible. Gaztelu is the perfect place to try dishes such as hake cheeks or bonito with onions, although diners can also choose from various cuts of roast red meats. The long wine list has something to suit all tastes.
