Ate on the taberna at plaza ramales. Only sat down because we were really hungry after touring the castle. Would probably have passed if not, because we thought it was the typical "tourist trap" you usually find close to the big attractions. Pleased to say...More

A wonderful place to get pinchos. You can find a lot of choice of pinchos prepared with high quality ingredients in unusal and smart combinations. We ordered 8 pinchos (15,00 € instead of 18,00 € because we had them inside) and got a bowl of...More

I stumbled upon this place after I couldn’t find a place at Cerveceria San Andrés, and again it was proved that great places are often found by accident. We sat outside on a warm Madrid night, with a view of Palacio Real in front of...More

I had been wandering the streets of Madrid, looking at menus without finding what I was after. Then I found this place. Central but not overly busy. After a short wait I got a table outside under a tree and ordered my bourbon and tapas....More

We ate at the “taberna,” located at Plaza Ramales 2, across the street from their main restaurant. The taberna is small with only a few tables inside, but they had the most delicious and interesting tapas, at only 2 euros each. Some of them were...More

The tapas look really nice and they are tasty as well. Waiters are friendly and the service was quick. So what's left to criticize? :)

We were surprised by the honesty of this restaurant when we asked if we could reserve a table for our wedding anniversary and we were told sincerely that they feared their new "gastrobar" revamp might not be romantic enough. A year later, we decided to...More

This is a small bar with outside tables offering a nice view of the the Royal Palace and Plaza de Oriente. They have a wide selection of delicious tapas prepared by their excelent Basque chef.

We booked online and didn't really need to. The place wasn't packed at 9:30 pm. The owner was pleasant, spoke good English, and spent time with us explaining about the cuisine (Basque). The food was very tasty and pretty good value.

Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street
