Go for one of their special burgers you won't regret it! The Alhambra draught beer is one of the best beers I have ever had (so smooth and creamy)! Service was not very attentive considering there was only one other person there but they were still very friendly so it would certainly not stop me from strongly recommending San Wich.

San Wich is a Chilean burger/hot dog spot in the middle of Malasaña. The average burger will cost you about €9.50, which includes the delicious chunky french fries. The food is full of flavor and offers Chilean drinks like Pisco. They also have a variety of Chilean empanadas and desserts but I find them overpriced. Still a great spot to... More

Got some very tasty burgers from here on our trip to Madrid, very happy with the food and service. Even our picky kids ate theirs :)

Came here twice during our trip to Madrid. It's a small place but great atmosphere and food. Loved the pisco sours and my favourite was the salmon burger...highly recommend.

This is a very small restaurant that would be difficult to find seating when busy. I ate there twice and was impressed with the selection of tasty gourmet burgers. The meat was flavorful, not greasy and served medium rare. It is a large patty which I would guess to be at least a half pound and over an inch thick.... More

Very busy place but was worth the wait. The sandwiches are huge and amazing, and the burgers are as well. I had the steak, avocado, and tomato sandwich. I loved it and would definitely come back!

We came in like an hour before closure. The place is quite tight, so one has to fight for a chair, well, not exactly, if one takes something away. They have English menu, which they kindly suggested and we accepted:) The choice of burgers was great, and tiny in-glass-deserts are cute, but I really needed a coffee, which was not... More

I ate a really delicious burger. The service is fast and correct and the beer on tab is great even though not my favorite brand. Not the cheapest place ever, but you have to consider how well situated it is. I liked it and might as well come back if I have the chance. I didn't like the frozen fries,... More

Staying in Chueca

Neighbourhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
