I just can't rate the place enough. The service we received (I went there with my husband on our 11th anniversary) was outrageously heavenly perfect. We ordered beef (cant remember what exactly but definitely steak on the stone) , asparagus and desserts at the end (assorted, pancakes and rice pudding). The quality of beef was top, perfectly done as we... More

Nice restaurant in a popular area offering lunch specials at a good price (11euros)and a good choice on the menu . I tried the daily special of Pasta marinera as an entree (excellent) , a veal cutlet ( overcooked) and a flanc caramel (delicious) . My wife had the macaronis (average) and our friends had the fish special which they... More

We stayed just down the street from this bright, clean little café, and walked in for breakfast before our shuttle to the airport. Husband ordered a chocolate croissant, juice and coffee, and I ordered a slice of a Spanish omelet with coffee, it also came with a slice of a baguette. Very tasty, the coffee was strong and much needed... More

Great service despite being busy. Great good at a great price. Open for early breakfast, unlike many other cafes.

Located in one of the most crowded shopping streets in Madrid they certainly serve a very good Paella and other traditional dishes. Certainly suggested if you are around Sol square

The only place where the person service us was rude. First of all the problem was the language. We walked in the restaurant at 10.30pm and we were asked to hurry as the kitchen will close soon although on here its says that they are open till 2am. we were a group of people and the waiter did not manage... The food here is not too special, but still tastes very good. It is close to Sol and all the stores around the plaza. Even though it was still breakfast time, the chefs still let us order things from the lunch menu.

I had a very good sea food soup .The prices are moderate and the quality of the food is very good. I recommend for those who are in the vicinity of SOL and want to eat something good and quickly enough.

Visited here yesterday. Had lovely jug of sangria, service was very quick. They allowed us to have something off the menu that wasn't available at the time. So we were delighted. Price was very reasonable would recommend

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
