5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 May 2016

We reserved for dinner and we really were presented with lots of yummy food. Miguel was himself taking care of every aspect and kept asking whether we needed anything else. Food was very tasty, typical German food, we got all the drinks we needed and the dessert was very delicious. Restaurant could be renovated as it has a kind of... More

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 February 2013

Great place for a break from tapas and salted meats. Authentic German dishes. Large beer selection and good solid German foods. All served up in a very cool beer hall atmosphere too. My Spanish is horrible, my German is worse, but I was able to get a few beers and a combo platter for two. Watching the staff hustle as... More

Staying in Arguelles

Neighbourhood Profile
Arguelles
Just south of the sprawling campus of the Complutense University of Madrid, Arguelles exudes a fast-paced, collegiate vibe. The main street, Calle Princesa, is filled with twenty-somethings rushing between classes and errands, meeting up with classmates, and grabbing cheap beers and cheap eats. This is a prime shopping spot where the major Spanish clothing and department store chains are less busy than their downtown counterparts, and there is an array of casual dining options to choose from. Check out nearby outdoor spaces such as the lushly planted Plaza de España to the south, which is often filled with craft stalls. To the west of Arguelles is the giant Parque Oueste, a calm and picturesque park with its own Egyptian temple.
