An amazing experience. Great cocktails, the mojito, the kiwiroska and the bloodymary are in my top 10 drinks ever! Very cool ambiance and service. The ceviches and the tiraditos, two thumbs up, the arepitas also incredible. The main dishes were equally good, the polvorosa, the asado, tarkari and the burger (yes I order the burger) just delish. We share a... More

We arrived shortly after it opened at 930. Americans eat a lot earlier than Spaniards and we are off to Toledo for a day trip the next day. My cod with a curry reduction couldn't have been better and my husband's pork in a skewer with vegetables was the culinary highlight of our trip so far. I had a glass... More

It is worth going on a weekend night to listen a live concert while dinning. Food is Peruvian, very good ceviche, tiraditos and arepas. Good value. Service is a bit chaotic but very helpful and nice. I will for sure repeat.

I was brought to this place when we were having a group dinner and it exceeded everything. The food was incredible, especially, ceviche with coco and lime. As evening progressed, it went only better and better with each minute. Highly recommended from my point of view.

I like the simple but really good taste, the good service, the variety of the Latin american flavors that they offer in their menu: Arepas from Venezuela, ceviche from Peru, Picanha from Brazil... They also have a very good brunch menu and the drinks I will definitely go back soon

We simply forgot and booked the restaurant for 8.30pm and were concerned when we arrived to an empty restaurant. Of course in Spain they do not start until 9pm at the earliest! By 9.30pm it was teeming with people and for very good reason. The food is fabulous and the atmosphere terrific. Again, customer service was wonderful and this always... More

A friend suggested La Candelita for dinner last Friday. I didn't know the place and decided to give it a try. I'm so happy we went. Food was delicious, you'll find a vast combination of Venezuelan and Peruvian food very well presented and fresh. Cocktails were creative and the wine menu was extensive with plenty of options and prices. On... More

Nicely presented food but not as tasty as it looked. Starter of selection of Arepas were the best part. Steak was chewy and disappointing. Due to the sweetness of the pastry crust the Polvorosa de Pollo was ok and I finished the dish. We didn't order a dessert which is very rare for us.

Oh yes and the -30% from the fork reservation make sure you have a 3 course meal in order to qualify! All in all this for sure should... More

Staying in Chueca

Neighbourhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
