Overrated. 16 Euro for two cups of coffee, small Raspberry tartlet and 4 macaroons seems overly expensive and the service is poor.

This is probably one of the best cake places I've been in terms of food quality, but I don't care much for the service. So I had to give it an average rating. It wasn't extremely busy when we were there and we were allocated a waiter who couldn't care less for us (tourist) and would rather serve the locals.... More

Mama framboise was very close to our hotel so we had breakfast there couple of times. Desserts were amazing , we tried almost all of them . Staff is friendly and speaking English. Quiches and croissants are also delicious. Loved everything about this spot. Mostly locals hang out there. A must try!

We visited here for breakfast, which was okay but nothing special. They had run out of butter croissants and it was only 10:00!! However, the cakes that are available looked quite nice but we did not try as it was too early in the day.

Warm atmosphere, kind service, very nice coffee, brioche and raspberry croissant, but unfortunately there was no 'wow' effect.

Stylish, beautiful, charming... The breakfast exceeded expectations. The raspberry croissant was utterly wonderful and they delivered a fab three shot espresso with only one raised eyebrow.

In my humble opinion this is the best place for desserts and cakes in Madrid. Is French style very beautiful, always crowded specially on Sundays afternoons. Great place to have a tea with friends.

We went to this cafe due to the excellent reviews and I would like to confirm it. Although it was in the morning, they had many pastry choices to choose from. The pastries were fresh with a buttery flavor. The coffee was average as you may find it in many places in Madrid but the pastries were definitely premium. The... More

Staying in Chueca

Neighbourhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
