The great feeiling when you just walk around not knowing the area and you bump into the coolest place with grate food and drinks. That happend to us. The food is healthy and unpretencious. I ordered lasagna with vegetables and minced meat. Deilicious. The barrista makes really good coffee -wich for me is not to often found in Madrid. We... More

Food good ,Salmon,Grilled vegetables and sweets to die for.A word of advice if you make a reservation asked to be seated on the street level as they have a basement level which is claustrophobic and they tend to put those of us who reserved with the companies that offer a discount.

Dear traveller, Every one of us knows this universal problem of: how to find the cosy, welcoming place for a chilled, and good, sunday morning/afternoon brunch with your friends that makes you feel at home. I say that, living in Paris, I can count such great places on one hand. Which seems to be true for the other cities I... More

Really cute restaurant. Ordered the wok de pasta which resembled a stirfry w chicken & vegetables. It was delicious. Server didn't speak much English but was tried hard to help us understand the Spanish menu. Excellent service. Would return here!

I found this place by asking in one of the shops in the neighbourhood for a place to eat. The staff is really friendly and helpfull and the food was so good we ended up dining there two nights in a row. In addition, my colleague went for an additional lunch-visit. The home-made burger is to be recommended. Most importantly,... More

On a recent trip to Madrid, we came to this restaurante by a recomendation (and it was next to where we were staying. Excelent!!! The menu is short and then they had two off the menu items. Since the place is tiny this must be how the keep the excelent quality and freshness of the food. We had some great... More

Staying in Chueca

Neighbourhood Profile
Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
