It is a typical small noisy Madrid restaurant/tapas bar with the warm atmosphere of the city. Dishes based on mushrooms are the best ones. Waiters are very attentive. The food quality is great. It is a good choice if you visit Chueca area.

After reading the reviews i went to try this restaurant and was truly disappointed with the service, the food and the prices. All what I had is one egg with Mushroom and it didn't taste good And paid 15 euro for it. Where in Madrid you can have a good 3 course meal for 12 euro! Of course the waiter... More

the have 2 places near each other - thankfully we dropped in to the smaller cafe version for lunch. the cafe was buzzing with locals . my wife went for the mushrooms ( the cafes specialty) and I had the black pudding - both excellent with a nice glass of white house wine !

We came here on a strong recommendation and were not disappointed. The mushrooms were delicious as was the pulpo a la gallega. Service was very professional and despite being completely full they still managed to give us a table when it became available. Booking recommended - would definitely come back!

Looks like one more Chueca's bar of tapas, but you can enjoy several kinds of mushrooms. I was astonished with the selected and gorgeous mushrooms assortment. Real healthy as well as a nice lessons of how deep could be our ignorance on these kind of Mediterranean raw material and how they offer special tastes and quite rare meals. A place... More

Visited this restaurant with my wife. Servings were tiny, we had a hard time finding the scallops amongst the mushrooms. The waiter was unfriendly. How the manager had the nerve to charge EUR 18 for that is beyond my imagination. If you eat t he bread be prepared to pay 1,50 € for 2 pieces as "servicio"!! 47,50€ for :... More

This place caught our attention as a more casual spot and there was a lot of movement from locals. As we enjoyed a few drinks here we also tried the house specialty of really good mushrooms and also the zucchini flowers were really intersting to try as well. A place for those really interested in or mushroom lovers.

A MUST if you love mushrooms. The rest is fine, as in a good Spanish bar: pulpo, morcilla con confit de cebolla ... Staff nice and even joking.

Staying in Chueca

Neighbourhood Profile
Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
