Great service and warm people. The Tapas was simply great and very affordable. Especially the cod and eg and potato cake were delicious. Together with a cold beer what more can you ask for. Absolutely great, simple and quick eating.

Best Cod Tapa in Madrid! They also got good vermouth apart from the traditional caña or shot glass of wine. The calamari tapas here is to die for too. Only issue is they do not speak english but it will be fun :)

Walking past this little Madrid bar, you'd never guess that they served the most tasty salted cod fritters or 'bacalao'. It is just a short distance from Plaza Mayor. We had seen this place on a foodie video on Youtube. We were in Madrid for 4 nights and visited twice. On our first visit, about 19:30, it was jam packed... More

Quick, really good food. It's so easy- just rock up- say you want cod and wine. I paid something ridiculous like 3 euros. 👌🏼

Tipical tapas bar in one of the most authentic areas in Madrid. Pretty close to Plaza Mayor, you can enjoy the best fried cod in town and a classic beer shaped as a perfect "caña". Feel like a local sharing one of the favorite places of people in Madrid

Your a champ Ainsley , thanks for profiling this amazing little bar . Gave the hand bag the shake and the young bloke and I spent 1/2 an hour in bliss scoffing the best battered fish and seriously cold tap beer my 54 years have ever offered . Jammed pack full with locals , wonderful atmosphere , incredibly friendly staff... More

If your in Madrid, well don't go home without visiting casa Revuelta. It's the best fish tapas in all Madrid. It's always packed, but push your way in and you won't be disappointed. All washed down with a nice cold beer.

Gorgeous little bar where you get to hang out with the locals!! You must try the deep fried bacalao (salted cod). Wine is served in tiny glasses and the white is retsina like in flavour. Not the type of place to ask what type of beers they serve! They just have beer, plain and simple! ;-)

We went to Casa Revuelta twice during our visit to Madrid. The first time was on a Thursday, and it was busy, but nothing compared to our visit after going to El Rastro on the Sunday, when the queues were out the door! The deep fried cod is delicious - saltier than the kind you get with fish and chips... More

Everyone else has said it, this is about the fish and it's very good. We had a few pieces and a glass of wine and beer, the drink is fine but the cod really is top, would recommend to anyone and go back tomorrow.

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
