Lots of great seafood options, and I was very happy to finally find some fresh salads as well. As others have noted, it's not a modern trendy restaurant, but rather an elegant, slightly more formal dining room though the service and the feel were relaxed and cozy. Waitress was friendly and accommodating. Tuna tartar with herring caviar was delicious, spiked... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by our concierge at The Wellington Hotel, it was only when we were seated that we realised it was part of the hotel. The menu choice was good and the food excellent however the service was poor. Despite the restaurant being quiet the staff were inattentive to topping up wine glasses and constantly reached... More

Everything in Goizeko is outstanding, the charm of the place, excellent service and centerpiece the magnificent cuisine of Chef Goizeko. Definetely a must for the finest dinner one can find in Madrid.

The atmosphere here is traditional and the cooking solid rather than exciting. I was expecting something close to Michelin star quality for my partner's birthday meal but we were both a bit disappointed. My gazpacho was a good starter but the Pil Pil cod, a house speciality, was glutinous and would have been better with more than just bread as... More

First let me start by saying that goizeko is an elegant and classical place to have dinner, it is not a hip restaurant, do not except to see beautiful models at the door or anything like that but if you're looking for a great dinner with a perfect setting then you nailed it. The croquetas are amazing (both, jamon and... More

Delicious arroz caldoso con bogavante. Really, superb. This restaurant is best enjoyed on someone else's expense account, though service and food quality are both very good.

Great place for sea food. Excellent quality and good service. Somewhat upscale and pricy but still worth it.

Goizeko has a wonderful vibe. Like much of Madrid it seems a bit overly formal compared to the rest the world but the place had warmth. The staff while at first a bit stiff warmed to conversation and gave us some wonderful advice about a very diverse and some what foreign cuisine. Most notable was the lack of noise in... More

Everything I ate was truly excellent, such as the Lobster & Halibut Ceviche, the Turbot Guetaria, and the Pina Colada soup with cinnamon ice cream. Good wines by the glass as well. Unfortunately this is spoilt by the poor service, off-hand and self-important, they know how to not make you welcome. Justifiably expensive. Would not return and do not recommend.

I have eaten at numerous restaurants with one star in the Michelin guide that would be second to this place. In fact I'll be surprised if this place does not have a Michelin star in one year's time. I can only vouch for the seafood but you'd be a fool to eat anything else. Lobster, tuna etc etc, all lovely.... More

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
