Another good suggestion from our Madrid Museum Tours guide. We were looking for a traditional restaurant with local patrons and the Ancha in Principe de Vergara turned out to be exactly what we wanted. Professional and friendly waiters who practice the art of top quality 'invisible service'. Excellent appetizers of squid and cuttlefish. The main course was a delicious sole and... More

There are two La Anchas in Madrid and both are family run restaurants where you can find delicious food where the focus is on quality, taste and excellent service. This month visited the restaurant in calle Zorrilla and Paco the maitre and sommelier gave excellent recommendations. At lunch time it's packed, but great for intimate evening dining. Try the famous... More

One of the most typical restaurants in Madrid. Food is really amazing (you should try the escalope or the tortilla with callos). The staff is really nice and the price is as hoc (not expensive). You have to go if you want to eat real and typical Spanish food (not touristic one)

These guys makes one of the best fried squid we ever had and we had it all over the world! It's crunchy from the outside yet soft in the inside. The cook managed to make a perfect fry as no oil residue is there. For the main dish, wr had grilled grouper which was made to perfection yion.

I came back to this restaurant after many years and I am pleased with the evolution. The restaurant is in a nice area but far from the most touristic places in Madrid. Next to a large beautiful park named Berlin and at walking distance of the National Auditorium, which offers good music seasons, and of the Real Madrid stadion. The... More

The place has the perfect combination of delicate made food and amazing service. With a great variety of dishes, all of them are made with the same quality. Fresh fish is the king.

Great traditional Spanish restaurant, with good quality rather than fancy food. Very much seafood oriented but then all usual croquetas, bellota and other lomo are present as well as delicious cooked vegetables. Large choice of fish with a special mention for grilled hake and salt cooked sea-bass. Eventually, extensive wine list with a good representation of various winemaking regions of... More

Setting: Right at Principe de Vergara - for Parking you will need a public garage as it could be challenging to find a spot. Indoors are typical Spanish. Outdoor seating very nice in a wooden style under shade. They have also vaporizers for those hot summer days/ nights. Food: We had a gazpacho to start, which was very good and... More
