This restaurant had no atmosphere, the waiter hardly spoke, made no attempt to engage and didn't smile. The food was tasteless and unimaginative. I've been a vegetarian for 50 years and this really didn't represent good vegetarian food in any way. I can't recommend it.

It was a nice find and good food. Their lunch menu is reasonable with a variety. It is good if you have time.

After struggling with Madrid's carnivorous attitude to food it was a delight to find Vegaviana, Our waitress was attentive and friendly and recommended a gorgeous red wine - we ended up having two bottles! The restaurant isn't too fancy but the food was really good and very tasty. Excellent home made hummus to start is a treat and the whole... More

My spouse and I came across Vegaviana resturant while walking in Madrid. We did not find a good resturant up to that point (although we ate almost every lunch and dinner outside and not at home). I an a vegetarian but my spouse is not. We both enjoyed our dinner at Vegaviana very much and hope to come there again... More

A great concept IMO - a vegetarian restaurant that has some chicken dishes for the non-vegetarians in a group. Vegetarian set menu at night was €13,50 for bread, starter, main and coffee or pudding. It was very good food at a very good price. My friend had lemon chicken, which he too enjoyed. Atmosphere was pleasant and I would certainly... More

Food medium quality, nothing special. We had the feeling the desert was from the supermarket, it was a pudding. The serve chicken dishes, which means it is not a veg restaurant. We won't come back.

This restaurant was recommended by out hotel staff when we told them that I would like to have a vegetarian dinner. Great variety of vegetarian dishes but also some chicken dishes for those not strictly vegetarians. The food was nice. I especially liked the lentil soup. Note that this restaurant open only at 21:00 for dinner.

Nice, simple and cozy place. Very good and tasty food. Very good ratio price/quality. I'll definitely come back. You can go with no vegetarians. They'll love it, and they have chicken.

This is a nice and small vegetarian place in central Madrid. We went here for lunch and were not disappointed. I had the bean soup and the vegetarian lasagne and loved them both. Our nice waitress was very helpful and recommended here favourites when I asked!

Staying in Chueca

Neighbourhood Profile
Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
