Calm and beautiful place at the end of la Castellana promenade nearly connecting with Colon square where you can have a coffee with wonderful sweets handmade there or some tapas with a drink: croquetas, ensaladilla rusa and sandwiches are really tasty. Don't forget to get inside the restaurant and visit the shop!

After my flight from Germany I decided to use my afternoon and relax with a nice cup of coffee in this well reviewed place. To my horror I had the worst experience ever! A well dressed old man who was a customer sitting right accross from my table started touchinh himself inappropriately in front of me while looking at me!... More

We booked lunch for 3 on a sunday via The Fork. Overall, a bad experience and will not return, other than for a coffee, a drink or pastries. SERVICE: below normal expectation. Very slow, many times no staff in the restaurant INTEGRITY: below expectations: did not apply the TheFork 30% offer HAMBURGER: this 20€ burger was tasteless and improperly cooked... More

Very good food and service, inside the restaurant its elegant and more business like, however outside they have a terrace, which in summer is a perfect spot. Wide variety of small pastries and desserts that are delicious.

Very good parmesano appetizer. Excelent Jamon iberico(do not miss it). Very good main dishes solomillo de ternera with foie and butter fish. Dessert, typical mini cakes from this place. With TheFork offer(40%off and 25€/person) it is a really good place to enjoy good typical food.

Traditional place to enjoy very delicious patisseries and fine sandwiches in the morning as well as in the early evening. There is also a restaurant and a fine gourmand shop in the place.

Just on the corner of Paseo Castellana a few minutes walk from the delightful Hotel Orfila. A lovely delicatessen downstairs at the entrance and a very popular coffee shop with a restaurant upstairs. You can choose from a wide range of cakes to have with your coffee and the small house lemon tart is what everyone seems to go for.... More

Quality of the produce is great but the fact that they knowingly ripped us off when we bought some Iberico ham before going home is utterly disgraceful. I couldn't understand why the staff were joking and laughing when we were paying for our purchases, well upon checking my credit card statement it was because they charged us the kilo price... More

We are sorry for making you feel that way but the price seems correct. Please understand iberic ham is a very select product and the one we offer is top quality. More

One of the absolute best places i've ever been though for drinks. Relax in their terrace and enjoy ice cold cocktails with free snacks.

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
