Located on a large town square, with plenty of tables outside. The inside is more charming, old style. Cafe Iruna has been around since 1888, a hang out for Ernest Hemingway. There is bar seating option. The main dining room was very busy on this...More

We dropped in at this iconic cafe after spending 3 hours walking around Pamplona. Enjoyed the great space and bought lunch and drinks from the counter and ate at a small table for 2. The Jamon baguette excellent, with lashings of Jamon. A very nice...More

We are here on our first evening in Pamplona. The cheap set meal was only served inside. Lovely setting , staff friendly and service very speedy. Positives end there! Cold frozen chips!! A breadcrumbed thin veal escalope which was too hard and dry to eat!!...More

We had a minihamburger, toast with ham and tomato, and toast with salmon for about 14 Euros. Setting was outside and the inside is beautiful. The people were polite even though we didn't know the protocol for ordering tapas.

Friendly staff, good tapas and plenty of tables inside. If you want a salad or more substantial meal than tapas, the menu is above the bar (or ask staff). They pour a good gin too

We went the first time just because the building holds so much old world charm. We sat at the bar and had a drink. A travel companion could not resist ordering one of the tapas on the bar and he said it did not disappoint....More

This is probably the largest café on the Plaza Castillo and on our first visit it was hard to find a table as it was a Sunday and full of families. The service was very efficient with good prices. We were not hurried and spent...More

There are so many nice cafés in Spain and it is disappointing that frequently you cannot eat your meal outside. Outside seating generally seems to be for drinks and maybe chips or olives. Café Iruna has a nice patio but we had to have our...More

This cafe is located in the square so you have a nice view of people walking by. However, the service was shocking. People working there clearly don't like working there and we watched our waiter treat most people with disdain. Quite a number of people...More

Founded in 1888 by a group of locals, was the first settlement with electricity from Pamplona, "opened to the public on the eve of San Fermin by filling to the porches", say the Chronicles of the time followed year after year, and still is the meeting point of all the locals, and all those foreigners who want to see the local who became world famous writer Ernest Hemingway.
