I think the place lost some of its charm. It claimed an adiacente room which is rather cold and anonymous taking away the special atmosphere of the main room, reminiscing of old time. Food was good. The appetisers were fine; fresh ingredients and interesting choice...More

Description
Anacleto and Tina Bleve, from Cerfignano in Salento, have been living in Rome since 1963. La Bottega del Vino, in Via Santa Maria del Pianto, which they created in the early 70s, was probably the first place in Rome to combine the culture of wine and gourmet food with their well-known art of welcoming and hosting.

Casa Bleve picked up, multiplied and in some way “specialized” this tradition, becoming a focal point, in the heart of historic Rome for Connoisseurs, lovers of quality food, social life and conviviality which stems from the discovery of the best wine and food choices, not only from our country, but from all over world, beyond today’s practices and worldly customs.

Palazzo Medici Lante Della Rovere is located in the heart of Rione Sant’Eustachio, a wide urban area characterized by stately mansions and historic and architectural buildings of absolute value, like the outstanding Borromini’s complex Sant’Ivo alla Sapienza and the majestic Basilica di Sant’Andrea Della Valle, or the theaters Argentina and Valle, or Palazzo Madama, current seat of Italy’s Senate.

Thanks to the accurate restoration, Casa Bleve’s rooms immediately reveal monumental locations and forms that are unusual for a private business or a public venue.

The historic wine cellars, among the most beautiful that can be found in Rome, are made even more precious by a Roman wall from the Augustan age perfectly restored.
