We happened to find this place on a "best pizza" review written by someone on their blog... and SOOOO glad we tried it out! Definitely frequented by locals. It was busy, tables packed in side by side and a constant flow in and out. Service was fast. We had the mushroom and sausage and fell in love with REAL pizza!!... More

I was keen to visit Ai Marmi. I'd read around some blogs and was anticipating a truly authentic Roman experience, top notch pizza with no tourist frills. But I'd also checked out the reviews here on TripAdvisor which are somewhat mixed. Sadly, TripAdvisor is right. Even on a Friday night, at 8pm, we didn't have to wait. Service was very... More

Very hectic place, but very nice. Went there quite early to get a table. At 7pm on a sunday, we got a table. Only half an hour later, the place was packed and people waiting outside. Service was in a rush. But you can watch the guys preparing the Pizza which is really cool. The Pizza itself was awesome, really... More

Our Roman host recommended this no-frills pizzeria. It is certainly beloved by locals and the delicious pizzas are prepared in a wood-fired oven and served on marble tables. The atmosphere is buzzing but don't expect luxury - this is a down to earth place! Top stuff - go there. And when you've had your pizza, stroll back through Trastevere and... More

Great atmosphere, yummy deep friend rice balls (don't know what they're called) and the best pizza I have had in Rome!

Would have given it a 3.5 stars if possible. Service is fast but the waiters spend no time trying to be helpful just trying to get your food and out the door as fast as possible. Pizza was very good but VERY salty. Nice view of the oven as the pizza is being made..

Friends and I decided to try this place after walking and seeing that this restaurant was always full. We ordered the supli and pizzas and couldn't complain.

Pizza was fine. Calzone was bad. All first courses were below average. The worst thing of all was the service. We found a table nearby the door . We sat down and with a freezing cold outside, the waiter left the door permanently open so that he didn't have to open and close the door in his way in and... More

We went here around 21:00 and the place was full. But fortunately we got a table at the window. The atmosphere felt very local and Roman, and the pizza was amazing. I got a 4 formaggio, lovely cheesy, my boyfriend got pizza with mushrooms and sausage and as starters we got delicious suppli. Reasonable prices.

Always packed. Small tables all squeezed together. Service is incredible fast, pizza is thin, like usually in Rome. Normally a late place, after midnight still busy. They offer tipycal pizzeria menu with some extra form the roman cusine.

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
