The ice cream was the most delicious ice cream i have ever tasted. Also the prices were really low, i think this gelateria is must-have when you are in rome.

I love how old style they are. They have very sweet little garden. Prices are very good and gelato is just fantastic. Strongly recommend to try rice ice cream and pistacchio semifreddo. Love it!

As a group of 8 we were looking for genuine Italian Ice Cream and an Italian shopkeeper recommended this one to us. We eventually found it after a walk of 10 minutes but it was well worth the walk. There was was a special offer on today for half price ice cream so we ordered middle size cups at the... More

Was introduced by a relative who lives in Rome. Incredibly delicious and cheap considering its history. Offers a wide selection of flavours. A must visit!

Delicious and tasty ice cream. A must! You can also have it take away! There is plenty of space and the price is convenient. The service is good quick and professional. Only little '-' is that they go all the way for the classics while they could dare more to experiment new things...

Dont let it fool you, the place is strange, large modern uninviting hall not far from the termini area, a bit arrogant staff, but the ice cream is absolutely fantastic,- natural old fashioned, company is 136 years old.Especially recommend pear, the best I ever had.Big choice of flavours, all are high quality.Prices are good,in december they had also had a 50% reduction sale one... The reasonably priced gelato here is terrific but for me it was the history that even topped the whipped cream! It was in 1880 that my great grandfather began delivering milk to neighbors which continues to this day as Utah's 10th oldest business. It was also in 1880 that Giovanni Fassi started his little ice cream business which continues to... More

During our stay in Rome in January, and in spite of an unusual cold wave (the water in fountains froze), we made a point to visit the "Palazzo del Freddo" (or the Palace of the Cold) as it was "warmly" recommended by a friend of ours, an Italian teacher and food lover. This was indeed worth the visit. It was... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
