This place came recommended by a local bar owner and he was spot on. If it looks like a student eaterie or a cheap local option, it's because it is. The prices are good and the pizza is fantastic. There were around 100 locals in here on a Thursday night, which tells you everything you need to know. The staff... More

We stumbled upon this place by total mistake. We saw a place with neon lights and bunch of people and decided to give it a try. Once we got the bread and olive oil we already knew this place is not joking. Antipasti was amazing, and the pizza... Wow! Raw and tasty with no joking around. And of course the... More

The pizza is cheap fast and crispy! Waiters are experienced and kind. The menù is quite standard therefore suggest to go for a pizza (margherita sausage mushrooms, quattro stagioni or with veggies -it will arrive thin and crispy- roman style) and fritti supplì, fiori di zucca and filetti di baccalà. Enjoy!

Many Romans think this is the best pizza in Rome, I can see why. The pizzas are thin and delicious with a variety of excellent toppings: the "fiori di zucca" is one of my favorites, also the "pizza Napoli" is really good as well as just your basic "margarita" the supli are also excellent and I can probably recommend all... Fast service, fast food. Pizza was so so. Interesting pumpkin flower and fried calamari. Mostly locals. Very crowded at night. Will go back again.

This place is the opposite of fancy and packed full of Italians. Honestly I think we were the only tourists in their. Loads of different types of pizza, all delicious. I had zucchini flowers and anchovies and WOW. All the others said theirs were incredible too. Also the risotto balls are not to be missed.

I found this restaurant on Trip Advisor and went with 2 friends on a Saturday night. It felt like an authentic Italian restaurant where locals go to eat. It also doesn't break the bank. The food was tasty and the service was normal. You can get a bottle of wine to share with friends for 6 euro. You won't be... More

Hands down this was our best dining experience in Rome. We had pizzas, fried crab, wine and salad and it came to about £18. It is a friendly and informal neighbourhood restaurant/cafe that catered to a mix of local families and students - very authentic and great relaxed vibe. It is one of the few places in Rome where we... More

A friend of mine brought me to this local institution. The neighor where the pizzeria is located is airy and mixed, much younger than the center. In the restaurant itself, you'll find lots (really lots, as the restaurant is composed of 3 big rooms) of local people, couples, group of friends, families of three generations. The service is efficient and... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo may look all street with its pulse in urban art and street food, but don’t be fooled. This gritty student neighbourhood immediately east of Termini train station is on the avant-garde rise. Art galleries, curated mural projects by artists like Rome’s favorite Alice, charming cafes, and boutique restaurants are slowly infiltrating the streets of San Lorenzo with counter-culture chic. Don’t worry, San Lorenzo still retains its local vibe with weekend festivals and demonstrations, and is always a hub for Rome’s university student scene.
