A friendly welcome into a charming restaurant by our host who showed us to a table in a warm, garden style seating area. He talked us through the menu giving recommendations and showing us the specials on offer. We opted for a sharing antipasti where we received a great mix of meats and cheeses with a chutney accompaniment and a... More

Our hotel recommended this restaurant and we enjoyed our pasta and wine dinner. It was a larger restaurant, but the dining room was separated into smaller rooms which made it very cozy. The service was very good.

Hits all the spots - great food, service, ambiance, value. Just a couple blocks off the main street near Plaza Barberini. If you are really hungry, start with the Antipasto della casa - they cover your table with a basket of sausage, bowls of cheese, crackers, fried vegetables - you help yourself, when you are done they take it away.... Bread that accompanies the meal is not free(€2 per person). Food was good. Staff was nice. It was busy around 8pm on Sunday night and we have to wait for 20 mins for the bill.

Very nice and attentive service. Had the house antipasti and it was superb. Good traditional cheeses and salami, and a mix of hot vegetable appetizers. We had two of the pasta of the day and both were great. The gnocchi with wild boar and tomato sauce was the best. Had lovely white wine from Sardinia that our waiter recommended. Overall... More

The first time we went here by chance and were very pleasantly surprised. When ordering Antipasto of mixed cheeses & meats we were presented with baskets & boards of great variety. A bowl with fresh mozzarella swimming in it. We were 6 people and everyone was pleased with their choices. We enjoyed it so much that we returned with our... More

Poor meal and not cheap. Escalopes were tough - presumably not bought from a good butcher. Indifferent. Popular with families as informal.

We were introduced to Il Giardino di Albino on a previous visit to Rome, by a friend who lives there. My memory was of outstanding Anti Pasti. On our return to Rome last week this place was definitely on our list. It is located on a side street to the left as you go up the hill on Via Trintone... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighbourhood Profile
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very centre of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping centre, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
