Breakfast SLOW and expensive, 2 eggs overcooked and toast 6 euros coffee extra. But what got us was the lady unfriendly and slow.

This establishment is part of the beehive hostel and it is only open for breakfast until 10:30. We did not stay at the hostel (next time we will cause it looked awesome) but we arrived there just for the breakfast yesterday at exactly 10:30. The lady was happy to serve us breakfast. We are gluten free for health reasons and... More

Menu is a little boring to meat-lovers, in addition, we would have loved to get some typically Italian pastries, like cornetti or other paste, or tramezzini, or panini. It mostly accommodates American taste and is not too special, though used produce is excellent. A little change from time to time like a "breakfast of the day" would be a great... More

I ate the breakfast every day, homemade bread and jam with eggs, so good. It was hard to choose from all the good choices each offered. The cappuccino's were amazing too. I highly recommend eating here, even if you aren't staying in the hotel. yum!!!!

The breakfast I had at the Beehive was amazing! Everything is fresh, healthy and not too heavy. Some months later, and I still think about the breakfast here!

We went for dinner and were the only guests. Three courses for 12 euros. The food was simple but very very tasty! We could see the chef prepare the food with love. The only downside is the decor, not really a nice romantic environment

Tasty food with friendly service. Cosy atmosphere. This place would be hard to spot without looking for it! Great place for a healthy organic brekkie.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
