My husband and I were exploring the Trastevere neighbourhood on our last day in Rome. We came across Ditta Trinchetti well past lunchtime. We experienced some of the most delicious food since since arriving in Italy almost two weeks earlier. We ordered a delicious bottle...More

Wonderful find in the Trastevere. A little off the beaten tourista path, but well worth the extra steps. Food and service were wonderful. As with all authentic restaurants in Italy, I suggest asking your server for a recommendation as regards the evening's menu and specials....More

Plate of mixed yellow chard & other greens with an artichoke - both delicious with tasty fresh bread. Followed by braised octopus in tomato sauce. Then Tiramasu. Great eclectic atmosphere. Very busy. Best meal so far.

Fancifully decorated with a shabby-chic interior that retains touches of home, this delightful little osteria in Trastevere serves to charm both your eyes and your palate. The menu is prepared for those with gentler taste and the food is light, no strong cheeses, spices, nor...More

I have dined from Rio to Seoul, and from Moscow to Kinshasa, but I have never seen this level of impoliteness. The restaurant was full when I came (around 9:15) and when I asked whether I should wait, they encouraged me to do so. But...More

To be honest we mainly chose this place as it offered something other than pizza and pasta, although I love them we needed something different after 3 days of having both for lunch and dinner! Ditta Trinchetti is quite charming, it has something a little...More

Really nice and intimate restaurant. They serve really delicious pasta, actually some of the best we had in Rome. Their bruchettas aren't worth mentioning, however desserts are pretty good. Highly recommended.

We were in Rome earlier this month, staying in Travestere, THE foodie precinct. And the food - and service from the happening hipster young guys - was so good that we ate there both on our first AND last nights! Try the carbonara with anchovies:...More

Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded
postcard, a little worn around the edges but still
charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering
streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and
overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible
mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of
entertainment - a rotating set of street performers
entertains almost every night, and unforgettable
