Traditional food - pasta, pizza, wine etc. Was on corporate dinner, so don't know prices. Was tasty, but too much.

We visited this restaurant after many years, remembering a friendly place with good food, a nice atmosphere, and kind and capable management. This time we found a restaurant where the menu has not changed in 15 years, where the food is mediocre, with no attention to presentation, and very little to taste, and with a very unsmiling hostess. We left... More

Not sure what I was expecting as it came recommended. Not that impressed sadly. Everyone else's food looked lovely though!

This small restaurant is a fantastic find. Full of locals, the staff went out of their way to accommodate us, and to guide us through the unusual and delicious menu. The fave bean puree with Chickory and fried anchovies were very good, and the seafood soup with tomato, the Pappardelle with lamb sauce and Oxtail were excellent. Finished off with a... More

A great little shabby-chic locals place with some unusual and inventive menu items like deep fried anchovies and pasta with grouper, also quite cheap. It's well worth the trek out here (it's well away from any of the main tourist sites) but be warned the maps are wrong for this area, including Google - via Dei Reiti is one block... More

Found this restaurant in a Italian restaurant guide, specialized in typical Italian restaurants, generally located off the beaten track and with a focus on local cuisine. The service was very welcoming, warm and friendly. The food was delicious.to start with we had a plate of fried enchovies, followed by Lasagna alla Rosanna (the hosts mother!). For the main I had... Just go! The food and service were fantastic. I had a white fish which was buttery but light and altogether delicious, and my better half had a wonderful veg tart. The neighborhood might not be the most picturesque, but who cares with food that good.

Great food, old fashioned restuarant decor -- not fancy, but traditional and nice. The pasta dishes were very good.

This place is somehow of those one should visit: fantastic atmosphere, famous Italian crowd and noise, very good food with few pearls and specialties. Nothing fancy (although not so cheap neither expensive), it looks like a family owned restaurant where other families and groups of friends are going wishing to enjoy like Tram Tram is their own. Big recommendation for... More

I hadn't been to Tram Tram since 1997. I found it to be even better than I remembered it. The decor is perfect for a great trattoria/osteria, nothing sleek or faddish about it. Old chairs, tables and mirrors, aggregate stone floors and the great refurbished wooden fridge are allpart of its great appeal. It doesn't stop there: the menu is... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo may look all street with its pulse in urban art and street food, but don’t be fooled. This gritty student neighbourhood immediately east of Termini train station is on the avant-garde rise. Art galleries, curated mural projects by artists like Rome’s favorite Alice, charming cafes, and boutique restaurants are slowly infiltrating the streets of San Lorenzo with counter-culture chic. Don’t worry, San Lorenzo still retains its local vibe with weekend festivals and demonstrations, and is always a hub for Rome’s university student scene.
