We dropped on for a quick lunch after visiting the excellent adjacent Palazzo Altemps. We should have looked elsewhere. While Passetto is modern and comfortable and the service good, the cuisine is over ambitious and poorly executed with average ingredients. Turbot fillet was dry and...More

My brother and I both had the Linguine Vongole (w/ clams). The pasta was done perfectly and the clams were so fresh they was not a hint of "fishy" odor. The sauce was a garlic, wine that absorbed into the pasta. We found the service...More

We enjoyed a lovely 3 course meal, accompanied by great wine and, not least, excellent service! I would say the best we'd had in Rome so far. The attentive and joyful staff made the evening a delight. But the highlight of the night arrived after...More

Away from the touristy Piazza Navona, this comfortable restaurant has a good menu and courteous service. I particularly enjoyed the pumpkin ravioli with amaretto and the Roman style artichokes, washed down with a local wine. A quiet and relaxed atmosphere just two steps from the...More

Having been completely duped in a restaurant the day before we were nervous sitting down to eat again in Rome. In fact we had both agreed never to return to the city. As the saying goes, what a difference 24 hours makes! This restaurant served...More

We were recommended to this restaurant by our fantastic tour guide Nina, who had given us a fantastic tour of the Colosseum, despite a horrible rainy afternoon! We needed a really nice meal to end our day. From the moment we stepped into this place...More

Having lived in Rome in the past, I was disappointed to find that all of my formerly-favorite restaurants have now become tourist traps, I walked for a long time to find EXACTLY the time of restaurant that I was looking for, and I found it...More

THE FOOD – Run by Salvatore Barberi, Passetto offers an array of typical dishes from the Italian and Roman tradition. We carefully select the best seasonal ingredients for our customers to offer a wide array of lush starters, delicious first and second courses, and an excellent choice of cakes. THE RESTAURANT – The Restaurant is located opposite Piazza Navona. Its premises have been used for dining since 1912. A number of illustrious figures have eaten on its premises including Queen Elizabeth II, Charlie Chaplin, Grace Kelly, Salvador Dalì, Liz Taylor, Vittorio Gassman, and Leonardo di Caprio. The refurbished restaurant features stonework from the original 16th-century palace and an Ancient Roman road in the wine cellar! THE CHEF RECOMMENDS – As a starter, the check recommends the Steak Tartare with Egg Yolk and Parmesan Chantilly cream. As a first dish, the Gnocchi with Octopus or the Roman classic Cacio & Pepe. As a second course, the Roast Lamb on Melted Pecorino Cheese.
