We chose to sit outside as it was warm even though it was raining. What a wonderful find. We noticed it’s a place where a lot of locals got to eat which is a good thing. The food and the service were excellent. We had bruschetta, lasagne alla Romana, pasta all’amatriciana and shared a lovely bottle of red wine. To... More

Ate here twice over our stay, first night just stumbled upon it and we're lucky enough to get a table inside for the evening, place absolutely packed through the course of the evening with us being the only foreign people in there ! Food stunning, simple but tasted beautiful, good wine list, (it's not the cheapest place you will eat... More

Amazing! If it's one thing the Italians are good at it's food and this wonder is the pick of the crop. Filled with locals and families, a good family feel to this place. We went last night and we're treated to a wonderful warm welcome, the food was sublime, atmosphere perfect and service was spot on. So good we went... More

After a long 24 hours+ of travel to get to Rome, we were looking for a place close to our hotel (Sofitel Villa Borghese) and most of the restaurants didn't open until later. We were hoping to sit down and enjoy a meal before collapsing from jet lag. We found Tempio di Bacco was serving and we sat outside in... More

We dropped in for dinner last night. Had aubergine rolls and rosemary-croquettes for starters. The rolls where nice but The coquettes where grilled sandwiches. Not what I experter. Skip them. Then we went on with warm buffala mozzarella with tartuffo and linguine with tartuffo. They were bott great but an extra plus for the linguine that was just fantastic. I... More

There are so many wonderful restaurants in Rome. Don't bother with this one- we were pushed outside meanwhile tons of Italians poured in the restaurant to eat inside. It was cold and rainy outside plus the steady stream of smokers sitting outside while you are eating. Pasta was mediocre and pizza was terrible- not even cooked thru. Pass this one... More

This typically Roman eatery is in the Via Lombardia, equidistant from both our Sofitel Hotel Villa Borghese and the ultra-chic Via Veneto. It offers indoor and outdoor dining and we opted on a cool evening to eat inside. What a surprise! We went to the next room which had high ceilings, whitewashed walls and welcoming service. Not feeling all that... More

Asked my concierge for a casual place to have lunch and was referred here. When asked if I wanted them to make reservations I said no. When we arrived at the restaurant less than 5 minutes later the host said you come from the Westin Hotel? So the concierge obviously called to let them know a couple was waling over..... More

Great fish and seafood restaurant with a pleasant outdoor terrazzo. The pasta was excellent, and veal limone amongst the best I have had. Fresh fish of the day on display and prepared to your liking. Menu very extensive. Many pasta choices for the first course. limoncello at the finish topped off a great meal.Chris, the waiter added to enjoyment.

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
