This little restaurant off from Piazza Navona and down an alley was our favorite find while in Rome. So many restaurants near the Piazzas and in the centro storico are flavorless and overpriced. Not Vecchia. We ate here three of our seven nights because once we found it we didn't want the hassle of testing others. We tried many items... More

We visited this delightful & delicious restaurant during our celebration week in Rome for my husband's birthday last July. We were recommended by our hotel's concierge & supported by their recommendations on here we booked for 'the' special night and we were all delighted by their wonderful fayre with great service by friendly staff. We had a good long chat... More

We just got back from a 10 day trip to Italy, including four nights in Rome, near the Trevi fountain (aka, tourist central). While it's great for its proximity to all the sights, it's tough to find a decent, non-touristy spot for dinner. We stumbled on VL on a night when we were sick of the options near the Trevi... More

Excellent place to have a meal. Service was superb! The house wine was very good. The octopus with potatoes was also really nice. Did not think that combo would work but it held its own. The winner by far was the truffle pasta with bacon. It was one of the best dishes we've had during our 2 week Italy trip.

We went because of the Tripadvisor reviews and liked the idea of a quiet out of the way romantic restaurant. It didn't quite live up to the expectation so we came away feeling a little disappointed. First the positive; friendly staff (excellent English) and good service. The restaurant was small, cozy and romantic. Prices, including wine (we had the house... More

There are so many restaurants in Rome that I think you could go to a different one every day for 10 years or more! Naturally most are offering the typical Italian cuisine and, from what we experienced, of similar great quality so it's hard to find a bad one, probably. However, on our last night we looked up on TripAdvisor... More

We were really looking forward to this special birthday meal. The restaurant is lovely, the pasta was delicious but our main courses were awful. Baby lamb chops were rock hard mutton. Steak pepe Verde was raw and sauce was split. To be fair the delightful waiter re-cooked our meal but it was just as bad second time around. We didn't... More

The trofie porcini & lardo, the carciofi, the Vitello Marsala, the spinach, the potatoes, the porcini mushrooms, the wait staff....... simply wholesome and divine! Well done and can't wait to return!
