If the sun shines and you are there at the right time of day - at present I would say around 14.30 onwards then the outside dining area should be bathed in sunshine. Obviously this timing will alter with the progression into summer. This restaurant is set in a particularly perfect piazza, architecturally speaking with curved facades in soft terracotta... More

We ate here twice as it was near our hotel and had fabulous food. Excellent antipasti, tortellini in brodo, saltimbocca alla romana, and pasta in cream sauce. The pizza is thin crispy Roman style, but could be better. It is one block from the Via di Pietra, which connects the Trevi Fountain to the Pantheon and is lined with lousy... More

The waiting staff believes it has reached a level of maturity that allows a free interpretation of any wish from the diners. Boar sausage was substituted with other salumi; swordfish with another grilled fish; cheese souffle (a chef specialty according to the menu) rejected out-of-hand. Melon with prosciutto was good, spaghetti with vongole avarage. With a bottle of chianti Riserva... More

We came on a Sunday for lunch. The vegetable soup was very good, but the other first courses - Carbonara and spaghetti alle Vongole - were not very good, oily and overcooked.

We celebrated my wife's birthday here and had a blast. We were fortunate to eat outdoors in the Piazza surrounded by ancient buildings which added to the ambience. Great food. Great service.

Restaurant with a large outdoor dining area and away from the hectic Rome city. Mix of locals and tourists the Tuesday evening that we dined there. The interior dining area has nice decor and looks comfortable. Dishes are flavorful and adequate. The staff service was efficient but not welcoming in demeanor. If you're in the Pantheon & Via del Corso... More

Had a lovely dinner here the first night we arrived in Rome; no reservation they seated us immediately and served bruschetta and arancini as a little amuse bouche. The food that followed was delicious. We were recommended da Sabatino by a Roman friend; let me recommend it to you!!

Very touristic restaurant, so do not expect to much service (it is charged in addition). The food is good as it should be. BIll Clinton has visited the place, but probably not when a whole bus of German tourist was on the terrass ...

The location of the restaurant is slightly off the main tourist route in a small piazza with a church to one side. It is the sole eating establishment in the piazza giving a spacious feel. There are tables both inside and out. One aspect that adds a special touch to the restaurant is the unusual bread balloon, complimentary tomato bruschetta... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighbourhood Profile
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very centre of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping centre, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
