Busy restaurant right in the heart of Trastevere. Food was good service not that great as they were very busy and our waiter struggled with English. We battled to get the message through re white wine so asked for a "taste" he came back with a glass somewhere between a taste size and a full glass. We weren't charged for... More

We had a lovely dinner at Il Duca. We were staying in the area and were recommended the restaurant, it definitely lived up to the recommendation. The home made pasta was fantastic, delicious tiramisu, great house wine, friendly service and very reasonably prices.

This was my second favourite place to eat (after ostera da zi umberto a 3 min walk away). I had lovely artichoke starter and then prawn & courgette flower risotto. Really great house white wine too for only 10 euros per bottle. So good my friend and I came back twice.

We were told that the it would be a 20 minute wait as the kitchen wasn't open yet. However, we were given (for free) a glass of wine each while we waited at our table. I had the ravioli, which turned out to be one of the best pastas that I remember having!!

This place in the Trastevere district was recommended by a local who loves pasta. The fried artichokes were a favorite and the large ravioli with spinach and cream sauce was divine. We would have all ordered that if given another chance. The service was adequate. The panna cotta and tiramisu were both very good. We would eat here again when... More

We went there based on a recommendation of a local friend. We found the prices below travestere's average. Menu is full of local dishes. Many dishes to choose from. Ravioli and the lamb were excellent. Service was great. Wine was also great. Overall we were really satisfied and had nothing to complain about. Recommended for a pleasant dinner.

We had a very pleasant evening at Il Duca. It had a cozy and rustic charm that you'd expect from a traditional Italian trattoria. The pasta was great, and I would highly recommend the fettucine with porcini mushroom. The waiter Alfredo was very friendly and polite to us. Highly recommended. Please expect more visits from me in the future.

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
