This restaurant is definitely worth a visit. We went to Rome for a 3 night city break. Out of the 3 nights we ate here on the first and third night it was so good ! Our hotel recommended the Trattoria Cecio to us and we're so glad they did. The food is traditional Italian and I would recommend the... More

Had found this restaurant on Trip Advisor before going to Rome and as it was only round the corner from our hotel we thought we would try it on our first night there. We did not book a table and we were quite lucky that we could get a table straight away. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food - we... More

We found this restorant on Trip Advisor App, and it was quite well. The food was delicious and we ate pasta with sea food and pasta with beef sause. i would've give 5 stars but there wasn't a wifi in the restorant.

We had bruschetta to start: very good! Our main courses were steak au poivre which was excellent and saltimbocca which was fine but not outstanding. It's close to Termini station so handy if you're staying in that area. Waiters were all friendly and helpful. House wine was drinkable.

We were near Santa Maria Maggiore and this place was 5 min away. We got pasta dishes to share and both were amazing, especially the rigatoni with sausage and truffle oil. The pasta tasted fresh and perfectly cooked. Service was friendly and prompt, a great spot for lunch.

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel which was only five minutes' walk away. It seemed to be packed but the staff cheerfully squeezed us in, a trick they seemed to repeat several more times. (Maybe Ceccio is Italian for Tardis!) We both chose the oxtail from the hearty Roman menu - delicious and more tomatoey than the normal British... More

We ate at this family restaurant twice during our 4 night stay in Rome. Great food, great wine and great service. Best to book a table which your hotel can do. Highly recommended!P.s. ask for the toilet not the gabbinetto!!! 😂

We stayed in Rome for five nights at the Hotel Ariston. We were lucky enough to have Trattoria Cecio just around the block. The food was AMAZING. In fact, it was so good we ate here three times during our trip. Probably one of the best meals I've ever had was the Rigatoni alla Biscaiola Tartufata. Reasonable prices, friendly staff,... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
