This was described to us by our local contact as one of the few remaining old family run trattoria's remaining in Rome. Sounds right to me. It is not fancy, it is not totally user friendly. (On the menu is a Popeye cartoon where a...More

We loved this place and came back for a second dinner. It's good value, fast, hearty Italian home cooking. Busy, popular with the locals. Some dishes only available on specific nights. Some popular dishes ran out by 830!

After lunch it closes and the door opens at 8 for dinner. If you go there like 7:45 you'll wait 15 minutes in line and get a table. (If you have a drink in hand, you won't mind the waiting). It's a bit overrated in...More

Went to this place on basis of a Lonely Planet recommendation- should have read TripAdvisor first. After joining a queue and waiting 15mins for a table, we were ushered in and then left to sit without menus, water, or any table setting for about 10mins....More

I'll start by saying that this place is very affordable. We had a litre of house red, two pastas, one main, one side, and a bottle of water and the whole thing came to less than 30 Euros. I was not expecting five star dining...More

We were recommended this place by our AirBnB host as a local eatery. We were excited, waited 30 minutes and within 5 minutes of being seated received our food. I have had better ravioli at home. Completely tasteless with canned tomato sauce. Same with my...More

Great authentic Italian experience. The food is awesome and unbelievably cheap. Service is a little gruff but part of the enjoyable experience. You can’t prebook a table so I suggest going early and queuing with the locals to get a table. Defo worth a visit.

This is our favorite restaurant in Rome. The limited menu with excellent home cooking is extraordinary. Open 3 hours for lunch and 3 hrs for dinner (8-11pm) no reservations, first come, first served. Arrive 20 minutes before opening time and you should be ok. We...More

Authentically Roman (not just 'Italian'!). Unsophisticated yet uncompromising in the freshness and quality of ingredients - something you simply can't comprehend from any pictures but to taste it yourselves. Seriously, if you think any restaurants in Rome are good, you have not had genuine Roman...More

The service was pretty abrupt to start with. We were ordered out because they were not serving for another 10 minutes and then we were asked to move to a smaller table A very simple menu with some items only available some days So not...More

Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded
postcard, a little worn around the edges but still
charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering
streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and
overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible
mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of
entertainment - a rotating set of street performers
entertains almost every night, and unforgettable

As I said in my review, we followed the Rough Guide recommendation in choosing this places - a guide that has always been reliable for us around the world. We sat next to locals who said it was one of their favourite... More
