As I have been eating gelato every day while in Rome, I can tell the difference in quality and flavor. This place is better than average, but also has many other very tasty looking treats in addition to gelato and is across the street from a nice fountain where you can sit and enjoy it.

The service was very good. Great choice. The Gelato is home made and excellent. You eat at a little table standing up. In Rome. What else do you want. :-)

Not a great gelato. Definitely too expensive. Probably you pay the location, not the quality of the food. Another annoying thing is that if you get the gelato on the counter, you can't sit in the inner tables

High prices small portions(while the menu describes big portions!!) low quality of food.I wouldn't suggest it for a place to have lunch especially for tourists

I repeated a lot of times that we are not a restaurant but an italian gelato and coffee shop. The gelato is handmaded following the best italian artisans tradition, instead pasta and others are offered only to let the tourists have a complete fast brunch or lunch and rest before continue their journey. So pasta is 300 gr each precooked... More

This is one of the best gelateria for those with coeliac disease (aka celiac in the US). Almost all flavours were gluten free, and the attention to avoiding cross contamination was excellent - the proprietor first scraped off the top of the chosen flavours, then had a freshly washed spatula, had GF cones in individual wrappings, and was very careful.... Very reasonable and very good ice cream! ... money well spent and if you can find a spot sitting and eating the ice cream, whilst admiring the altare della patria ... that would be even better!

This small gelateria is located close to Capitolini Musei and it is a nice place to eat gelato and drink coffee after or before visit on Capitol hill. The very nice selection of "giusti", you can find almost everything, what you can imagine. The staff was very friendly and helpful. On walls you can find pictures from "A Roman Holidays"... More

The Gelato here is homemade, so the pistachio isn't the lime green color you find at other gelaterias, and it's very good. Piazza Venezia doesn't have a lot of great places, so this was a find. However, like all Italian bars and gelaterias, there are two different prices, one to sit in the room and another to stand/take away. We... More

We went there and the 3 kids ordered their ice creams. We were told to sit in the next room. Then another attendant said we'd have to pay another price if we sit there, but the kids were ok. We ended up charged with 4 euros per ice cream, when the price was 2.50 and not sitting anywhere.

We remember ALWAYS our costumers that the ice cream cono and the cardboard cups ordered at the counter are selled ONLY for TAKE AWAY and we NEVER SAY to sit in the brunch room because costumers are FREE to enter or not. So probably the staff advice you of this, but you didn't want to listen to them. You can't... More

Staying in Piazza Venezia / Ancient City

Neighbourhood Profile
Piazza Venezia / Ancient City
If all roads lead to Rome, then they all end here. Piazza Venezia and the Ancient City are the very epicenter of the Eternal City. Within a 360-degree turn, Roman history unrolls in front of you, from its ancient beginnings to its 21st century transformations. Whether it’s those historical playgrounds known as the Roman and Imperial Forums, or the side-street shops, trattorie, and churches, this neighbourhood packs a cultural punch and then some. Screaming scooters, battling buses, crazy cars, and lots of foot traffic converge in the area all day long. By dusk, a different vibe emerges as the neighbourhood quiets down. Don't be surprised if you find yourself passing through the Piazza Venezia at least once a day, since it’s the most direct way to get from one side of town to another.
